"The human world is very dependent on its computer networks. We act like a parallel world to theirs, holding it all together, keeping almost everything in their dimension running."
If I'm lucky, the link is direct and destroying our world will immediately destroy theirs. But if I'm less lucky (or perhaps more?), the link is indirect, and loss of the world's computers will merely cause global chaos.
"Then the humans' extinction will come slowly, as they gradually kill each other off in the anarchy that follows. Every moment of their remaining lives will be painful... just as mine was."
And so, in the destruction of everything, I shall both have my revenge and end our self-imposed torment. Two worlds will be destroyed, perhaps forever.
...But if ever someday a world of people comes to exist again, hopefully it will be more deserving of life than ours was.
Because if it isn't, there will always, always come someone like me to set things right again.
